About The Role
HomeServe are currently recruiting for a UK Reporting Accountant to join the Finance Team in Walsall. The successful candidate will be strongly systems orientated, ideally be working in industry, part qualified and studying towards a full qualification.
We work in a hybrid way, with a requirement to travel into our Walsall office at least twice a week to work with the team. With that in mind you will be located within a convenient commute to Walsall.
The UK Reporting Accountant is responsible for all consolidation activity supporting Management Reporting, Group Reporting and External Reporting for HomeServe UK. Be the systems champion ensuring that all finance systems are used to best effect across the department.
Key Responsibilities: Management Reporting Responsible for the consolidation of the monthly management accounts for the UK Group for both actuals, forecast and budget across the P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow. Providing additional financial insight to the Finance SLT or Group Finance through the production of monthly reports and ad-hoc requests.
- Financial Reporting Support and assist with the production of quarterly Brookfield reporting, full year statutoryaccounts for HomeServe Membership Limited, and annual tax requirements to support with tax computations for senior manager review.
- Financial Controls & SOX Maintaining financial excellence and control, ensuring that all the accounting processes, policies, standards, and SOX financial controls applicable to your area are adhered to.
- Cashflow Forecasting Support and assist with the production of the monthly forecast, and annual budget cashflow for senior manager review and submission to Group finance.
- Finance systems Ensure that Oracle, Hyperion Planning, and FCCS are developed and controlled to facilitate efficient and accurate financial reporting during month end and other necessary reporting requirements. To ensure that all relevant members of the Finance function (Commercial Finance and FR&C) are correctly using the systems and can source the reports and analysis that they require.
- Continuous improvement Challenge, identify and create innovative solutions to drive improvements across the financial control function, embedding financial best practice, with the aim of reducing production time whilst strengthening existing controls.
- Adhoc Support with the production of Adhoc analysis and reporting requests.
About The Candidate
To be successful in this role you will need to have the following knowledge, skills and attributes:
Essential: - Part qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) working towards their full qualification, with practical experience in a busy Finance function
- Systems oriented with a knowledge and experience of Oracle, Hyperion Planning and FCCS
- With an eye for attention to detail
- Used to working within tight deadlines
- Continuously looking look for ways to change and improve processes
- Good organisation skills
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Team player
- Pro-active & enthusiastic
- Proficient user of Microsoft Excel/Office
- Able to work autonomously and be self-motivated
Desirable: - Experience with preparation of statutory accounts
- Proven track record working in a fast paced, consumer facing organisation inthe Financial Services sector
- Experience of working within a SOX financial control environment
